CTT GROUP ACQUIRES A THERMAL HAND TEST SYSTEM
SAINT-HYACINTHE, QC, CA, August 14, 2015 – CTT Group has completed the acquisition of a thermal hand test system
CTT Group, the leader of textile testing in North America expanding its comfort laboratory services by purchasing a thermal hand test system. Intended for glove manufacturers, this testing equipment, one of a few in North America, offers the opportunity to assess the degree of insulation against cold and evaporative resistance.
The thermal hand simulates both, heat and sweat, to assess the influence of gloves on the thermal comfort process. Placed in an acclimatized chamber, the equipment can measure temperature changes in five strategic areas of the hand: fingers, palms, back, wrist, and the lower part of the forearm.
This instrument allows, amongst other things, testing in compliance with the following standard methods:
• ASTM F 1291 Standard Method for Measuring the Thermal Insulation of Clothing Using a Heated Manikin
• ASTM F 2370 Standard Test Method for Measuring the Evaporative Resistance of Clothing Using a Sweating Manikin
CTT Group is a cutting edge testing laboratory and an innovative research and development facility specialized in technical textiles, advanced materials, geosynthetics, and polymers. This acquisition is part of several recent investments in unique facilities in North America, including the Flash Fire Man ™, a new automated rotary braiding platform, and a clean room environment for VOC testing.
